    A National Register site, Rosewell Ruin reflects Virginia’s colonial and early American plantation landscape, Atlantic trade, and the legacy of slavery in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Designation: National Register of Historic Places; Chesapeake Gateways Network Site
  • WATERMAN’S MUSEUM, 309 Water Street, Yorktown, Virginia 23692
    The Watermen’s Museum preserves and interprets the heritage of Chesapeake Bay watermen, illuminating how the Bay’s resources have shaped the traditions and community life. Designation: Chesapeake Gateways Network Site

  • AMERICAN REVOLUTION MUSEUM AT YORKTOWN, 200 Water Street, Yorktown, Virginia 23690
    The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown tells the story of the nation’s founding, from the twilight of the colonial period to the dawn of the Constitution and beyond. Exciting indoor galleries feature period artifacts, immersive environments and films, including “The Siege of Yorktown,” with a 180-degree surround screen and dramatic special effects.

SATURDAY – October 24

  • DELTAVILLE MARITIME MUSEUM & HOLLY POINT NATURE PARK, 287 Jackson Creek Rd, Deltaville, VA 23043
    The Deltaville Maritime Museum preserves Chesapeake Bay boatbuilding traditions, environmental restoration practices, and community heritage through exhibits, hands-on programs, and historic interpretation. The Deltaville Maritime Museum preserves and celebrates its legacy of wooden boatbuilding in Virginia’s Middle Peninsula. As a Chesapeake Gateways Place, the museum interprets the vital connections between the Bay, local craftsmanship, and community life. Designation: Chesapeake Gateways Network Site

  • GWYNN’S ISLAND MUSEUM, State Rte 633, Gwynn, VA 23066
    What Williamsburg has meant to the nation, smaller towns have signified in shaping the character and reputations of their own communities. On smaller scales, praiseworthy efforts are underway to identify and preserve their heritages. Gwynn’s Island, a distinct enclave within Mathews County began its museum years ago. Under the direction and blessing of the Gywnn’s Island Civic League, this museum has gathered in, cataloged, and attractively displayed many cultural artifacts and personal histories. It has brought into the public the individual traditions cherished by proud families, and made them again community property.
